Bradoon bits vs snaffle bits

namnlos-1366-x-500-px-1080-x-1080-px-12

What's the difference between a bradoon bit and a snaffle?

A bradoon bit (also called Bridoon) is a snaffle with smaller rings and often a thinner mouthpiece. This is because a bradoon is meant to be used on a double bridle together with a Weymouth bit. It's then preferable to have smaller rings so it doesn't interrupt the Weymouth and a thinner mouthpiece, as there will be two bits in the mouth of the horse.

Most of Fager's bradoon bits can also be found as snaffle bits, with normal snaffle rings and a slightly thicker mouthpiece. But if you prefer, the bradoon bits can be used on themselves without a Weymouth.
